However, it is reported that the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has proposed to remove 13 of 36 types of scrap allowed to be imported from abroad, including:
1. Gypsum
2. Chemical elements doped for use in electronics, in the form of discs, wafers or similar forms
3. Silk waste (including cocoons unsuitable for reeling, yam waste and garneted stock)
4. Tungsten (wolfram) waste and scrap
5. Molybdenum waste and scrap
6. Manganese waste and scrap
7. Titanium waste and scrap
8. Zirconium waste and scrap
9. Antimony waste and scrap
10. Chromium waste and scrap
11. Re-melting scrap ingots ( of iron, steel or cast iron)
12. Waste and scarp of plastics of polystyrene (PS): Soft, not film
13. Waste and scarp of plastics of polyvinyl chloride (PVC): Soft, not film
The Ministry also proposed to remove the following 4 types by January 1, 2022
1. Waste and scarp of plastics of polystyrene (PS): Others
2. Waste and scarp of plastics of polyvinyl chloride (PVC): Others
3. Recovered paper or paperboard (waste and scrap): Other, including unsorted waste and scrap
4. Granulated slag (slag sand) from the manufacture of iron or steel
